Dec 2009/Jan 2010

Jan 2010

Well here we are starting a new year. Hannah is fighting on but will not make London this month, her disease has progressed and her bone marrow is struggling, she needs platelets every 3rd day and so many tablets I lose count of what she is to have next.

She managed 5 sessions of radiotherapy directed at a tumour which has grown next to her spine and may be causing the shoulder pain although she has disease in her shoulder too. We were on Ward 27 from Boxing day to the 30th as Hannah was generally unwell and had a scarily high blood pressure which is another reason she will not be able to have the treatment in London. However the main reason is that Hannah is now at home where she feels comfortable, she is not well enough to travel to London and even if she made it through the treatment the benefits at this stage do not outweigh the risks.

Please pray for Hannah, however you pray, whatever you believe in, that she is comfortable, safe and not in pain.

Health and good things for 2010 for you all.

November 2009

Sorry it been so long since we updated.
We are back from mibg treatment in London, Hannah had a reaction so had half a dose and no chemo, which did mean she did not require a stem cell rescue. However, her bone marrow still took a bashing and she is now requiring platelet transfusions on a regular basis and blood too.
She is very tired although she has managed the odd day at school which is lovely for her as that is all she wants to be able to do. See her lovely friends and go to school just like any other 9 year old.
Her shoulder is the main point of her acute pain at the moment so we are looking to give her spot radiotherapy to that area, her pelvis disease is too spread to be able to pin point so we are hoping to go back to London in Jan to have another dose of mibg to help with the more widespread pain/disease.
Thankyou everyone who supports and helps us with our fight, you are amazing.

Hannah's Daisies

Hello to all readers of Hannah's blog. This is Lisa here, friend of Hannah and her family. I have found a way of helping Hannah's charity that does not involve running a marathon and climbing loads of mountains in 24hrs! I have been making these daisy brooches and hairgrips to sell to raise funds for Hannah's charity. If you would like to purchase one please click on this link here . All proceeds will go to Hannah's appeal. If you are able to crochet or are a budding designer and would like to create your own daisies to raise funds for the appeal, feel free to have a go. I would be more than happy to post and promote your designs. Who knows we may start a new craze!

Update August 2009

Hello

I had a scan and it showed some more disease. It is where it always was after my last treatment and I have new hot spots in my neck and pelvis. My right leg has been hurting alot but I have some medicine to help. But it makes me tired and grumpy so sorry if I am not myself.

I am waiting for an appointment to see Dr Gaze at UCHL soon to see if he can help with my disease. I would have mibg therapy which is a type of radiotherapy but for my whole body and I would be in a room for about 5 days twice over and then need my stem cells back.

Please can you sponsor team Hannah who are doing the 3 Peaks challenge on 4th September to raise money to take me to America for treatment, this might be required soon! Team Hannah are also doing the Dragon Boat racing like last year so support them with that too please.

School starts back next week, I have had a great summer, Florida and Center Parcs and camping. And I got to meet the Saturdays pop group!!

See you soon I am off for a sleep

Love Hannah xxxxxx

Birthday girl

Hello to you all

Sorry it is so long since we wrote but we have been so busy. H is fine and turned the grand old age of 9 on 9th May. She had a great time on her birthday and enjoyed a sleepover with her lovely friends.

I ran the London Marathon, seems ages ago now, really enjoyed it and thankyou for your support and sponsorship money. We are now training for the 3 peaks challenge in September along with the Dragon boat racing in the same month and we are holding another Cricket day in July too.

H had a horrible tummy virus all over the Easter Holidays so missed out on lots of fun and we still have all her Easter eggs untouched but doing my best to eat them!! She lost loads of weight and became very weak but the good news is she is eating well again now and slowly but surely putting it back on.

Clinic comes around once per month where H gets another months supply of chemo then we keep our heads down and off we go again. H has joined the school choir and enjoys Brownies and swimming and spending time giggling with her friends, just what life is all about.

See you soon

hi it isbeen so long since i last wrote. This week i had a great time because it snowed. And now i am going to tell you all about my week.Monday and tuesday school was closed due to the snow.I went sledging at bradgate park then i built a snow lady with boobies HA HA.Brownies is closed too uh everywhere is closed around here. You just can't get the right staff around here can ya.
On Weds school opened again and I got to see my friends, we played out on the field and built another snowman but year 6 boys came and stood on it! How annoying?
On Thursday, guess what, more snow and school closed again, but I had a great day as I spent it at my friend Olivia's house. We played on the Wii and build a big massive snow cat and then we bounced on the trampolene and all the snow bounced on us. Back to school on Friday and we had a reading test and either watched a film or played in the snow, guess which one I did?
Then I went with my Mum to give blood, it took ages she is so slow to bleed but I got plenty of biscuits!
Today my mum took me on a shopping spree that she arranged for my Christmas present, I bought some new clothes and two new hair bands.
Now for one of my jokes What vegetables do you find in the toilet? Leeks and peas HA HA.
See ya soon H xxxx
